On a recent trip to New York I asked a couple of those painted naked women in Times Square who have caused such a controversy if they'd model for me, and they were totally game for it, even enthusiastic though they'd clearly make more money just doing their act. So the next day I set up an easel and drew three (nearly) nude women in Times Square! They did a terrific job considering the circumstances, and though it was nerve-wracking with so many people looking on I got a detailed drawing, basically the outline for what later became a large, finished acrylic painting:
